Tango is an authentic Argentine experience not to be missed, a dance with style and grace like none other.

In the city of Mendoza, Every Thursday night at 10:00 p.m. Mendoza's Gio Bar, an Italian restaurant located on Calle Chile (Chile street) between Espejo and Guiterrez, presents a live tango performance in a cozy, intimate setting. There is just enough space for a stage of two, and there isn't a bad seat in the house.

The event costs 50 pesos per guest. Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling Gio Bar at +54 (261) 420-4107.

After receiving your wine (not the finest you will have in Mendoza, for certain), classic tango music begins to play and you are taken down a nostalgic path to the streets of Buenos Aires, the birthplace of tango. As the dancers enter in stylish suits and elegant dresses, you can tell immediately that an incredible performance is about to take place.

Tango is a sensual dance, a combination of passionate love fused with the sophistication of controlled rhythmic steps. With the wine reaching the bottom of the glass, accordion music and Spanish style opera has the dancers moving back, forth, and side to side, with spins, kicks and dips in between. In the end the dancers strike an even more sensual pose. Between each song, the dancers select members from the audience, so be ready to learn how to perfect your steps.
