What is it about ice cream in Argentina (or as it’s called locally – helado) that makes it so wonderful? We suspect it has something to do with the country's Italian roots. Ice cream here is an art form – a culinary experience in its own right that Ferruccio Soppelsa has perfected.
There are six locations of Ferruccio Soppelsa ice cream in Mendoza city, and they are the true pioneers of ice cream in the region - getting their start 80 years ago!
A personal favorite is Malbec a la Vanilla! You can’t go wrong with this perfect combination of a creamy vanilla flavor with a strong Malbec flavor at the end. Combine it with other berries and you have your perfect ice cream blend. If you would like to try something more common they also have a delicious banana split, tiramisu and over 40 other flavors. If you find it to be a bit too hot to walk to a Soppelsa, don’t worry, they also deliver, as most Mendoza establishments do.
