This winery is owned by the Chandon group, who were one of the original foreign investors in Argentina. Seeing the potential for sparkling wines, they started producing it in Mendoza’s Lujan de Cuyo. A few years later, they decided to start making still wines as well, and so Terrazas de los Andes was born.
The attractive winery is not that far from Chandon itself, but has a more secluded feel with private gardens and a restaurant which has gained quite a lot of fame for its top quality French style cooking paired with wines from the bodega.
Wine to try: Their sweet Petit Mensang is a stunning dessert wine with lots of sweet citrus fruits and a smoothness to it that may well make you forget it is so high in alcohol.
