Melipal is focused on sustainable winemaking practices and although they are not officially certified, they avoid using any pesticides and unnecessary chemicals in the vineyard. Their sprawling vineyard does not feature grapes alone - a large group of agave plants (looking quite similar to cactus, but in fact producing the sweet sugar substitute) greet you as you approach the winery.
While Melipal's traditional line focuses on Malbec primarily, incorporating Reservas and Rose, their newer Ikella line includes Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot as well.
Foodie’s Delight: Spend a lazy afternoon at their restaurant trying out different Argentine dishes which are all paired with Melipal’s wines. We find the food to be amazing.
