Jean Bousquet first came to Mendoza from his Southern French city of Carcassonne in the late 1990 to look for land where the family could continue its tradition in winemaking. The Bousquet family grew wine in France, but when Mr. Bousquet discovered the climate and unique conditions in Mendoza he became convinced to move his winery to Mendoza. In 1998 he purchased land in Tupungato in the Uco Valley and today the winery continues to combine their European traditions in winemaking with the climate and terroir of the Uco Valley.
Domaine Bousquet practices organic viticulture without the use of added chemicals. A lot of attention is given to the sustainability of the production process. The organic vines tend to produce fewer yields of grapes of higher concentration which in turn, have more flavor and natural expression of the terroir. The winery produces both the Domaine Bousquet and Cameleon lines which are sold in 45 countries around the world.
