This charming boutique winery is owned by French retirees, Brigitte and Philippe Subra, who turned their life dream of owning a winery into a reality.
Making refined wines in the heart of the oldest wine region in Mendoza, Maipu, southeast of Mendoza city, a visit to their winery and home is very personal as you can tour the restored winery and new visitor center with Brigitte and Philippe themselves.
The winery is located in one of the small older buildings, where visitors can watch the various winemaking processes in action.
There are a few options for tastings at the end of your tour. Guests can try different varietals such as Torrontes, Syrah, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon or Rose.
Wine to try: Their icon blend, Prestige, is one of the highest scoring and best value wines in Argentina (91 points in Parker for 2004 vintage).
It presents aroma and flavor combined harmoniously: red and black fruits typical of Malbec, with vanilla and chocolate notes acquired in the barrel.
A joyous romp with cherry, violets, blackberries and brambly fruit in the midst of earthy toffee and tobacco.
With good color and structure, all the aromas of red fruit and plums typical of Malbec are revealed and combined with spices given by the Cabernet Sauvignon and hints of chocolate and vanilla coming from the oak.
