In 2009, the Pimentel family, who specialized in farm management, created Caelum project after deciding to move from Buenos Aires to Mendoza.
Brother and sister, Constanza and Hernan, both put a great deal of passion and energy into the project, bringing life and warmth to the winery. Recruiting the help of Italian winemaker Guiseppe Franceschini, they started making European style wines with elegance and refined expression, including classic varietals Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay.
The boutique winery is located in the stunning Lujan de Cuyo, just 1.5 hours from Mendoza city, surrounded by mountain views best taken advantage of by the outdoor patios overlooking the gardens. Tours include watching the different winemaking processes in action and a tasting of their wines.
Foodie’s Delight: Caelum is one of the few producers of pistachios in the area and sells these delicious nuts at the winery.
A perfect wine for the first date – now it just depends how smooth your moves are.
