The French family that owns Alta Vista, the D’Aulans, produces wine in several of the top wine-growing regions around the world from France to Argentina. In Argentina, they are in search of the greatest quality Malbec and Torrontés, combining French savoir with the passion of Argentina.
Originally built in 1899, the historic winery has been combined with modern winemaking and vine-growing technology, and was completely restored in 2003. With French roots, maintaining focus on quality aging is important. Alta Vista’s process is very unique, aging without wood for a year, and instead using cement tanks for top wines. The wines are then aged in barrels from three to 36 months before bottling. This winery offers more than 20 varietals of wine.
