Saturday, May 18th marks the date of the third Urban Organic Fair in the Godoy Cruz neighborhood of Mendoza City. The fair will take place in the Godoy Cruz Plaza from 10 AM to 3 PM and is organized by Vida Plena.
Entrance to the fair is free and will feature more than 20 stands of local and national farmers and agricultural professional eager to share their products – and their practices – with sustainable food fans.
Fair goers will be able to sample and buy products ranging from seasonal organic vegetables and fruits, biodynamic dairy products, organic wines, eco-friendly juices, oils, nuts, breads and pastries, teas, spices, sugar, cosmetics, textiles, and organic poultry, among many others.
This urban organic fair is part of a growing national and international movement to promote locally grown, ecologically responsible agriculture. The first two fairs were well-received in the community and attendance is anticipated to increase. Fair organizers hope that this effort spreads the philosophy that “we are what we eat” and that we need to care for our bodies, lives and the earth.
If you´re planning to buy anything at the fair, we recommend you bring some pesos (in bills smaller than 100) and reusable bags to tote your goods back home.
