On Monday, March 3 starting at 8pm crowds will gather at Portal Alameda, located between Av. San Martin and Cordoba, to celebrate Carnaval Maravilloso. There will be costumes, folk dancing and plenty of celebratory energy that tends to pour over everyone this time of year.
If you care to join in on the fun, information for the costume contest is available on site and there is no need to register in advance. If you are more interested in being a spectator, there will be plenty of activity to feast your eyes on.
This annual street party has multicultural roots going back to the Greek and Roman Dionysian celebrations. According to the customs, on the night of Carnaval, anything goes!
Costumes are optional, but dancing is probably not. And who wouldn't want to! Once you slip into the scene you will not be able to keep your feet still.
Costumes optional.
